WinPack
WinPack is perhaps the premier packet software for PBBS use. Unfortunately development of this software ended when the author Roger Barker G4IDE became a silent key. While still used my many countless hams as their primary packet software, you should also look at Outpost as well. WinPack however is still considered the best software for bulletin management. It has many other features that may persuade you to prefer it. And you don’t have to be confined to one software package.
WinPack is now free but the author has requested a donation to one of two charitable foundations. To get WinPack go to www.gb7fcr.plus.com/ and scroll down a little to download WinPack Full Install Version 6.80 You may also want to download the manual. The help files included with the program and pretty good but sometimes the format of a manual is what you need. I have had a little trouble with the BBS.txt script file and studying the Script chapter really helped.
